Set to open to the public on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 the restaurant will showcase a regularly rotating menu of the chain’s favorites from around the globe, as well as some more familiar menu items, like the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Chicken McNuggets and Fries.
McDonald's is launching a new value deal Monday featuring its most iconic menu items.
Starting on Feb. 29, the fast-food giant will offer its Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish and Quarter Pounder with Cheese nationwide on its McPick 2 for $5 menu. While these items have been offered at discounted prices before, they have not been offered all together on a value menu, the company said in a statement.
Chef Jessica Foust, McDonald's director of culinary innovation, said in a statement that the deal was a thank you to the company's customers for their continued feedback and 'proof that [the company] will continue to listen.'
While the deal will only be available for an unspecified limited time, McDonald's will likely be monitoring the performance of the promotion closely.
'The McPick menu definitely has long term potential as we continue to look for ways to give our customers both great tasting food and value,' Lisa McComb, McDonald's director of media relations, said in an email to CNBC on Friday.
In January, the company had offered a McPick 2 for $2 menu that included the McDouble, McChicken, Small Fry and Mozzarella sticks. Twitter is buzzing with some customers who see the new deal as a price increase despite the change in items.
The 2 for $5 deal also resembles a similar value menu offered by Restaurant Brands International subsidiary, Burger King.
Here's to hoping McDonald's will also counter BK's 2 for $4 Croissan'wich deal with their own breakfast deal.
